Avalon ASIC bitcoin mining devices have arrived!

core developer and Red Hat Linux software engineer Jeff Garzik has made a post on his blog, his Avalon ASIC has arrived!

Keeping good on their promise, Avalon shipped one of their first units express directly to Jeff for verification.  It seems Jeff is unpacking it right now, and taking plenty of pictures as he inspects every element of the bitcoin mining device.  It seems that ASICs have finally arrived.

The 19.8 TH/s of Avalons first shipping will probably start coming online over the next few weeks only to be joined by an unknown amount of TH/s from Butterfly Labs who are set to start shipping in 11 days on the 10th of February.

UPDATE:  It is now hashing at a very respectable 67 GH/s !
